About Sally and yoga
The spacious yoga studio was added to the Inn in 1997. There are mats and other equipment available for use by our guests. You are welcome to use the room for your own practice when classes are not being held.
If you’re interested in a yoga class before breakfast talk with Sally ahead of time. Sally holds weekly classes for the local community; guests are welcome to join, space permitting.
Sally Van Vleck is a semi-retired innkeeper at the Neahtawanta Inn. She has practiced and taught Hatha Yoga for over 40 years, and is a certified yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
Sally began practicing and studying yoga in 1977 and began teaching shortly thereafter. Her style has been influenced by many of her teachers over the years, with a combination of vinyasa (moving from pose to pose in a flow) to holding poses longer in order to release connective tissue. Sally teaches all ability levels and has introduced many guests to yoga.
Sally’s teaching has an emphasis on alignment, strengthening, reducing stress and tuning into body awareness on a deeper level. She includes pranyama (breathing techniques), savasana (relaxation) and meditation in each class.
